Watchmen Graphic Novel
The Watchmen graphic novel is the collected form of the Watchmen comic series, originally published as single issues. Watchmen was written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Dave Gibbons. It was originally published by DC Comics as in 1986 and 1987.
In Watchmen, Moore's original characters are used to explore contemporary anxieties, such as nuclear war, and the destruction of the superhero concept. The comic is set in an alternate history United States in the 1980s.
Watchmen has received critical acclaim from both the comic world and the mainstream press. It is considered one of the most important works in the comic book medium, setting the stage for many later comics. To date, Watchmen is the only comic book to win the prestigious Hugo Award.
Hardcover Watchmen Graphic Novel
The Watchmen hardcover graphic novel was released in November of 2008 in anticipation of the release of the 2009 motion picture Watchmen based on the comic series.
This volume is 436 pages and features a new cover by Gibbons as well as high-quality, recolored images. It also includes selected bonus sketch materials.
